Meet Dr. Caissa Troutman

I’m Dr. Caissa Troutman, a quadruple board-certified physician with over 20 years of clinical experience helping women navigate the complex changes of midlife.

I am board certified in:

  • Family Medicine

  • Obesity Medicine

  • Culinary Medicine

  • Menopause Care (Menopause Society Certified Practitioner)

I also hold advanced certifications in trauma-informed coaching, women’s hormone therapy, sexual health & testosterone, cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and I am a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES).

Through my signature 4M Playbook— Meals, Movement, Mind, and Meds, I help women address the real drivers of weight gain, fatigue, sleep disruption, and hormonal symptoms in perimenopause and menopause.

My mission is simple:

Help women lose weight, master menopause, and thrive in midlife.

My Picture Story

Why Midlife Weight Loss & Menopause Feel So Hard

If you’ve done “everything right” and your body stopped responding, you are not failing.

Midlife weight gain and menopause symptoms are not about willpower — they are driven by:

  • Estrogen decline

  • Metabolic slowdown

  • Insulin resistance

  • Sleep disruption

  • Stress physiology

I help women stop blaming themselves and start working with their biology — not against it.

The 4M Playbook: A Whole-Woman Approach

My care model addresses both symptom relief and long-term health.

Meals

Evidence-based nutrition using real, enjoyable food to reduce inflammation, support metabolism, and improve energy — without rigid dieting.

Movement

Strength-forward, hormone-aware movement that supports muscle, bone, insulin sensitivity, and confidence.

Mind

Empowerment coaching, stress regulation, and sleep optimization — to support sustainable change.

Meds

When appropriate, FDA-approved hormone therapy and medical weight management to support metabolic and hormonal health safely and effectively.

Menopause Expertise — Science You Can Trust

As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, I specialize in the complex hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause, including:

  • Hot flashes & night sweats

  • Sleep disruption & insomnia

  • Brain fog & mood changes

  • Weight gain & body composition shifts

  • Bone, heart, and metabolic health

I use the latest evidence-based therapies, including FDA-approved hormone and non-hormone options, to help women feel like themselves again — while protecting long-term health.

Culinary Medicine Meets Metabolic Science

As a Board-Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist, I bridge the gap between food and physiology.

Instead of vague diet rules, I teach women how to:

  • Build meals that support hormones and metabolism

  • Reduce inflammation without restriction

  • Eat in a way that feels sustainable, flexible, and satisfying

Food should support your life — not control it.

Professional Expertise.

Personal Lived-Experience.

I’m Also a Woman in Perimenopause

This work is personal.

For years, my most disruptive symptom was insomnia.

It wasn’t until later that I recognized these symptoms as part of perimenopause.

FDA-approved hormone therapy helped me reclaim my sleep, my energy, and my life.

That lived experience informs how I care for every woman I work with — with empathy, precision, and respect.
